Leftfoot African Safaris Banner

Mt.Kenya is an extinct imposing volcano dominating the landscape of the Kenyan highlands. The mountain has two peaks "Batian"( 5,200meters) and "Nelion" (5,188 meters). The moountain slopes are cloaked in forest, bamboo, scrab and moorland giving way on the high central peaks to rock, ice and snow. The mountain is an important water catchement area, supplying the Tana and Norther Ewaso Ngiro systems.

Giant forest Hog, white tailed mongoose, elephant, black rhino, suni, black fronted duicker, mole rat and different species of birdlife.

Access:

  • Road: 175kms from Nairobi via Nynyuki Isiolo road or Nyeri-Nanyuki road near Naro Moru.
  • Airstrip:Closest commercial airstrip is at Nyanyuki

There is currentlyno accomodation being offered at the park, various lodges offer accomodation in the region.

All year round

Mountain climbing, wildlife viewing, cave exploration.
